Mentoring changes lives
‘Mentoring transforms the lives of young people. It also
benefits mentors, families, friends, colleagues,
schools and communities.’
Anyone can become a mentor, you don’t need any particular experience or skills. We provide expert training and, once qualified, you can become a trusted mentor to support and empower a young person.
Through the one-to-one time with your mentee, you will see and feel the difference you make.
How Alec's mentor gave him hope for the futureAlec faced a lot of challenges as a teenager, which led him to disengage from school with very little support. He shares his story and the transformative impact the Raise mentoring program had on him. Alec describes the difference it made to his life to have his mentor turn up every week, just for him. You have the power to change a young person’s life - join us in an incredible journey by signing up to volunteer as a mentor. Comprehensive training and support will be provided every step of the way.

We know this because we do robust evaluation to measure our program outcomes. Year after year we see results that show significant improvements in young people's resilience, sense of school belonging, hope for the future and the ability to ask for help.
They like the program too! 98% of our mentees tell us they enjoyed the program and 93% would recommend it to a friend. 78% of our mentees tell us the program helped them cope with the issues they faced - issues like depression, bullying, anxiety, self harm, financial hardship, discrimination, insecure housing, and disordered eating.
The stories they tell us, no matter how short and sweet, speak volumes to the impact you'll make.

After the program, 94% of Raise mentors told us that they are more comfortable checking in with young people in their own lives, and feel better equipped to support them. 96% of mentors indicated that their confidence to mentor significantly increased.
