Teenage years are tough

50% of all mental health disorders begin by age 14, often with lifelong impact. Adolescence is a complex time with so much change, physical and emotional - at Raise, we can't stop change, but we can help young people cope with it.

Research shows young people who are mentored have lower levels of depression, higher sense of wellbeing, know where to go for support and are more likely to find employment and their future path.

All they need is your time

We recruit and train everyday people like you to become volunteer mentors working with young people in years 7, 8 and 9 who would benefit most from a mentor. Through the one-to-one time with your mentee, you will see and feel the difference you make! As experts in our field, we’ll train you for success before placing you in one of the most respected youth mentoring programs in the country.

  • 2 hours

You’ll need 2 hours free, to be at the school for mentoring on the same day and time each week

  • Up to 23 weeks

You’ll need to be able to do this during school term time

  • 1 lifetime

You’ll make a lifetime of difference to your mentee, equipping them with tools they can use long into the future

In a program that works

And we know this because we do robust evaluation to measure our program outcomes. Year after year we see results that show significant improvements in young people's resilience, sense of school belonging, hope for the future and the ability to ask for help.

They like the program too! 99% of our mentees tell us they enjoyed the program and 96% would recommend it to a friend.
77% of our mentees tell us the program helped them cope with the issues they faced, issues like; depression, bullying, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self harm and disordered eating.

The stories they tell us, no matter how short and sweet, speak volumes to the impact you'll make.

It will change two lives

Mentors tell us year after year that they benefit as much as the mentee they work with. The experience of mentoring can positively impact your own personal and professional life.
