Research shows that young people who are mentored have lower levels of depression, higher sense of wellbeing, know where to go for support and are more likely to find employment and their future path.

All they need is your time

We recruit and train everyday people like you to become volunteer mentors working with young people in years 7-9 who would benefit most from a mentor. Through the one-to-one time with your mentee, you will see and feel the difference you make. As experts in our field, we’ll train you for success before placing you in one of the most respected youth mentoring programs in the country.

  • 2 hours

You’ll need 2 hours free, to be at the school for mentoring on the same day and time each week

  • 20 weeks

You’ll need to be able to do this during school term time

  • 1 lifetime

You’ll make a lifetime of difference to your mentee, equipping them with tools they can use long into the future

Our program works

We know this because we do robust evaluation to measure our program outcomes. Year after year we see results that show significant improvements in young people's resilience, sense of school belonging, hope for the future and the ability to ask for help.

They like the program too! 98% of our mentees tell us they enjoyed the program and 93% would recommend it to a friend. 78% of our mentees tell us the program helped them cope with the issues they faced - issues like  depression, bullying, anxiety, self harm, financial hardship, discrimination, insecure housing, and disordered eating.

The stories they tell us, no matter how short and sweet, speak volumes to the impact you'll make.

Causing a ripple effect...

Raise mentees aren't the only ones who get something out of our mentoring program.  Our mentors consistently tell us how much they benefited from the experience. They are often pleasantly surprised by how applicable the skills they've learnt are to their daily lives.

After the program, 94% of Raise mentors told us that they are more comfortable checking in with young people in their own lives - and feel better equipped to support them. 96% of mentors indicated that their confidence to mentor significantly increased. For our corporate mentors, 94% told us that they learnt skills that they could apply in the workplace. These outcomes help contribute to our broader goal of creating thriving communities.
